Campus Fire Ministries by Melanie Dorsey
"My testimony begins when I read in the CMT church bulletin a few Sunday's ago that the Campus Fire Ministries was having a meeting for anyone who wanted to attend. I immediately knew that God wanted me to be there and I was excited to go. I literally saw our church with worshipping young people. But, it was more than that, it was the excitement of breaking ground. In order to witness and show people you love God you need to be happy and excited to serve Him. I knew that I could bring something to the table, besides just being a past student. I know that there are so many students that truly want to serve God. I know what it's like to have so many different things in your face and not know which way to turn. I know how important it is to have a church family that supports you and helps you through one of the toughest times of your life. When I got to the meeting with my friend Rachel, I didn't want to start off telling people that God had sent me there and that we should try this and that. A passion arose in both Rachel and myself and I could truly see we fueled discussion with the other group members. Soon, we were going around the room telling how God had inspired us to come and why we felt the need to be there. This wasn't just a social group, but a chance to energize and give confidence to my generation. The power of God in that meeting made me realize we were in God's will. Everything flowed naturally. So, my testimony is the reason why I'm a part of Campus Fire Ministries. God placed a passion, or better yet compassion in my soul for the students and faculty at Purdue University."
