Then and Now ... Looking Forward by Kirt Warren, Bus Ministry Director

Here we are again at the beginning of a new year and we are continually grateful to the Lord for the awesome growth the Bus Ministry experienced in 2004.  We are so pleased with the progress the Lord supplied for Bus Ministry with an average of 80 children on our buses each week in 2004!  When we look back at previous goals, we see that only a short time ago we were hopeful to pick up 50 and run 3 routes, since then we have met and surpassed that goal through the Lord’s help and He has provided an even greater increase than we could have imagined.  We are currently running 4 routes and are looking forward to our rapidly approaching new goal of bringing 100 + children and adults to Sunday School as well as evening services.

We are also very excited about a brand new addition to Bus Ministry!  We have started a clown ministry team as an inner ministry and are expecting great results in encouraging more and more children to ride the Buses. We are so thankful for every one of the clown ministry staff and their dedication to the work.

As Bus Director I continue to feel an ever growing burden to see our buses full not just on Sunday mornings but for evening services as well.  As we continue to grow this additional service will provide a great blessing to those without transportation to be able to hear the Word of God ministered throughout the week.

This year we are looking forward to purchasing a larger bus to accommodate a continually growing route on the South side of Lafayette. We also have many wonderful and exciting plans for upcoming attendance promotions and contests. We continue to pray God will open even more new doors into this ministry as we hunger to see His kingdom grow. Our burden and mission is to strive to fulfill the Lord’s commandment stated in Luke 14:23, “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”

In conclusion, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Pastor Carson as well as each and every member of the Bus Ministry staff for all of their support and hard work in 2004.  This work could not be done without such a dedicated, hard working and caring staff.  We look forward to continuing to labor together in His work and see even greater growth in CMT Bus Ministry in 2005!
