Pastor Anthony E. Carson

Pastor Carson and wife

I was born to William E. and Lorraine Carson on December 18th 1947 in Memphis, TN. Even as a small boy, I had this inward desire to live for God, and at the age of 10, I received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in the precious name of Jesus.

At the age of 17, I felt the call to preach the Gospel. I had just graduated from Central High School in Memphis and had already signed up for pre-med courses at Memphis State University. God had different plans for me. After changing my courses, I remained a student at the university and also studied theology under my pastor's mentorship. My very first sermon was preached at Christ Memorial Temple in Lafayette, IN pastored by Rev. Raymond Parnell. Little did I know, that years later I would become pastor of that same church!

In 1966, I began my full-time ministry as an evangelist with the Assemblies Of The Lord Jesus Christ. In August of that year, one of the most wonderful things in my life happened to me... I married Martha Lee Wilson. For the next five years, my wife and I traveled across the country doing evangelistic work. In July of 1971, we began our first pastorate in the little southern Indiana town of North Vernon. After sixteen years in North Vernon, we evangelized for two more years before accepting a pastorate in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Six years later we went back on the evangelistic field for a couple of years before moving to Pensacola, Florida to work in the Spoken Word Church as their church evangelist.

In August of 2000 we received a call from Pastor Raymond Parnell and Christ Memorial Temple to serve as Associate Pastor. Since that time, God has blessed us with a new 40x60 fellowship hall, a total interior remodeling, and many new souls. Thank God for His grace and mercy!

As of January 2004, Pastor Parnell has become Bishop, and I have become Pastor at CMT. We pray for wisdom and anointing to continue the wonderful job Bishop Parnell has done the past 40 years.

Bishop and Pastor Emeritus Raymond E. Parnell

Bishop Parnell and wifeBorn into a minister's home of Roy M. and Lilly Belle Davis Parnell, my life has always been focused on being a servant of God. While Dad was pastoring in Augusta, Georgia, God called me to preach at the early age of 12. My first revival was for Rev. J. L. Pipkin of Blue Mountain, Mississippi at the age of 14. After graduating from the Academy of Richmond County in 1956, we moved to Memphis, Tennessee where Dad took pastorship of a church. There I held a one month revival and then started my own full-time evangelistic ministry. Those early student-preaching days were exciting and invaluable. I learned much and realized what great possibilities lay ahead.

In January of 1958, Loretta Leigh Carson became my wife and greatly assisted my ministry. During those early years as evangelists, we learned to trust God and saw many miracles. I was ordained in 1959 and currently hold credentials with the United Pentecostal Church International. In September 1963, I accepted the pastorate of Christ Memorial Temple. My education continued with taking courses from the Churches of God of Ireland, Notre Dame University, Indiana University, received a Bachelor of Theology and a Master of Theology from Indiana Bible College, a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University in elementary education, and post graduate studies with Indiana Wesleyan University. I hold an Indiana teacher's license.

Community and regional involvement includes: Lafayette Leadership graduate, Superior Court III CASA advocate, Lafayette Reading Academy board member, Chaplain of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, Indiana Sunday School Director, and UPC National Singles Director.

Since 1963, Loretta and I have enjoyed pastoring CMT. We realized that change was inevitable. Since I am well in body, soul, and spirit, I decided to select my successor so that I could enjoy watching the continuance of the good work of pastoring the membership. Brother Carson has faithfully labored with me for over three years, and I felt he was God's choice to succeed me. On January 27, 2004, with the acceptance of the membership, Pastor Anthony E. Carson became Pastor and I became Bishop / Pastor Emeritus. I feel certain that Brother and Sister Carson will do well while my wife and I will continue to assist in any way possible.

What a wonderful 40 years!

Youth Pastor - Eddie Robinson

Youth Pastor Eddie Robinson and wife Kashonna

I was born on May 1st 1981 in Muncie, IN. There I was raised under the teachings of my mother and father, Eddie and Debbie Robinson. I was blessed to be raised in an apostolic home with two Holy Ghost filled parents. My father pastors a church in Anderson, IN and as a young boy I was very active in church. Throughout middle school and high school I participated in sports and developed a love for basketball. I played varsity basketball my sophomore, junior, and senior year of high school for Muncie Central. I received MVP honors both my junior and senior year which helped earn a spot on the North-South All-Star team and was selected as one of the top 20 players in the state of Indiana.

After graduation, I went to Lamar University in Beaumont, TX where I received a full basketball scholarship. I started all four years and became the fourth all-time leading assist player in school history. While attending college, I met a beautiful young lady by the name of KaShonna, who was originally from Texas and came to Lamar on a track scholarship. When we were dating, we would attend the Apostolic Church of Beaumont that was pastored by Jason Sisco at that time. On the Sunday morning of April 13th, the Holy Ghost was falling and I then decided that I was nothing without Him. I received the Holy Ghost and joy came into my life. KaShonna could not believe the change in my life and a couple of weeks later, she became a believer and was baptized in the name of Jesus. On May 11th, she received the gift of the Holy Ghost. We both went through college with the Holy Ghost and received our degrees. I graduated with a bachelors in communications, TV broadcasting and journalism, and she received a medical degree.

After college I had an opportunity to further my basketball career and went to Sydney, Australia. When I came back, I worked with the Dallas Mavericks and practiced with their summer league team. After a year of chasing my dream, the Lord let me know that it was not for me and that He had greater things in store. I thought I was going to college to play basketball, but it turned out I went there to receive the Holy Ghost, find my wife, and become Home Coming King.

On March 13th, 2004 I married Sis. Kashonna and we moved to Lafayette, IN. In April of 2004, we started attending Christ Memorial Temple. Pastor and First Lady Carson along with Bishop Parnell and his wife welcomed us with open arms. Throughout the year of 2005, I started developing a strong burden for the youth, and wanted to help out anyway I could. In January of 2006, I was asked to become the Youth Pastor. I never would've thought I would be where I am today in the ministry. Thank you CMT for all of your support and prayers.
